ONCE IN A BLUE MOON: WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE BLUE FULL MOON
Full transparency? I didn't know what a Blue Moon was or that we had one coming up until I was tasked with writing about it for this blog. I keep my eyes peeled for Mercury Retrograde so I can batten down the hatches, but other than that, I don't usually have the astrological calendar on my radar. Maybe you're like me and this is all news to you or maybe you're a little more privy to what the planets are up to, but either way, I've done some research so you can read up and know what to expect.
The Blue Moon doesn't have to do with the color of the moon, but is actually a term for when a full moon occurs twince in a month. It only happens once a year ("once in a blue moon" - get it?) which makes it rare and super special. The first full moon happened on 8/8, which you can read about here, and the one coming up with occur on Sunday, 8/22. Blue Moons are incredibly powerful for manifesting because they're stronger than what a full moon would be regularly. They're an amazing opportunity to set your intentions because you'll have twice the energy going towards them - take the chance to set long term goals and by the following Blue Moon, it will have manifested because Blue Moon energy lasts until the next one comes around.
You may be thinking, "But aren't full moons usually better for releasing? You know, letting go so you can have a fresh start?" The answer to that is typically yes! And despite what I told you in the previous paragraph, the Blue Moon is not an exception. What makes this Blue Moon so unique is that it's also a full moon in Aquarius. Full Moon in Aquarius has aspects that are amazing for starting something new - from anything to a relationship to a project. Love is strong during this time so try to be open to it. It's a time to invest in yourself and the people around you, cut ties with what no longer serves you, and give to the people and activities who do.
Looking to take the universe up on this opportunity and give? Us too! So we started Sunday Perks, where you can refer a friend and you each get free $10 from us. And if you really want to spread the wealth, you can forward this blog post to let them take advantage of our Perks program too x
