Most people I know think I go a mile a minute; I'm everywhere. And, for the most part they are right. Except for Sundays - my favorite day of the week. It's my day. I put zero pressure to achieve things on a Sunday. The post office is closed so fulfilling orders from my accessories line, Pretty Connected, can wait. No one is in the office at my non-profit or at the brands I’m partnering with, so I'm off completely off-duty.
Hypothetically I want to tell you it's the day I explore new neighborhoods, visit museums or read the long list of books I have on my reading list, but currently I am not that person. I used to be in college, and I hope to see that girl emerge again someday, but at the moment she's unavailable. In truth, unless it's your wedding, housewarming or the weather is nice enough that I reluctantly say “yes” to brunch plans, I try to avoid any and all engagements. On a “Me” day, or rather “Charlie and Me” day, I don't want to see the light of day. Charlie is my pomeranian and spirit animal, who also turns into a cozy boy and together we take laziness and snuggling to another level. Sometimes my boyfriend tries to talk to me about his Apple watch and “closing his rings” and asks if I want to participate in some form of exercise. It’s usually a sweet, but firm “no.”
I don't get out of my pj's. I sleep in, binge all the shows I missed during the week, eat leftovers (or ask him to cook for me) and self care like it's my job. Exfoliation pads, sheet masks, and face rollers are all in my Sunday plans. I light my Sunday Forever 11:11 candle, occasionally sage the apartment and bask in the glory that is Sunday. Incidentally the Sunday Forever 'go sage yourself lighter and sage set' is my go-to gift for everyone and every occasion and very reflective of my good vibe, life cleansing Sunday (and everyday) I want for all my friends and family.
Sundays are magical. It's the only don't-stress-me-out, do-not-disturb, only-have-eyes-for-my-television-and-puppy day of the week. And it's completely guilt free. This is when I recharge my battery and make up for any weekday burn-out. The only sunday scaries I get is if I give up part of my Sunday, and start my Monday without my battery fully charged. I try and remind myself that life is about balance so if I do have plans I try to block out time Saturday or Monday to rest. I end my Sunday making a to-do list. This calms me and helps me organize my week and schedule my tasks out by day. It also helps me sleep.
I like to live life excited for what's next. When my Sunday is done correctly, Monday is the next best day ever. It's the start of a fresh week, a clean slate and an opportunity to create new projects, collaborations, see friends, grow my business' and beyond! From Sunday to Monday I go from zero to hero.
