THE SUNDAY ISSUE 2K18 HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE
by The Sunday Forever Team
At Sunday Forever our mantra is, “You Deserve Nice Things.” We truly believe it. That’s why we spend 90% of our time dreaming up magical things we hope will make you smile. The other 10% of our time is spent eating pizza, watching Bravo in bed and talking to Ted and Wyatt - wishing they’d answer back for just one time in their lives. But, that’s all for another post….
The point is, we spend a lot of time making Nice Things but it’s that time of year when we also like to receive Nice Things. Side note, that whole “‘tis better to give than to receive” stuff is very overrated. We all deserve nice things, remember? We’ve compiled our favorite Holiday Nice Things and created our very first Sunday Forever Gift Guide. We hope it inspires you to give but also helps you drop some hints as to what you’d like to receive.
Stay tuned over the coming weeks as we pile on more of our favorites!

I’ve spent a combined 5.5 days of my life this year digging through my purse in search of my keys, wallet, and phone. That has to stop. The Legend Tote is like a really organized personal assistant but in tote bag form. There’s a pocket for your laptop, metrocard, phone...LIP BALM! And, if you’re looking for a gym bag, look no further than the Landon Medium Duffle Bag. If I cannot stay organized with this bag, there’s really no hope left for me.
Us and lipstick are old friends. But, let’s get real, the real GIFT in this gift-set is the pouch. It screams 70s punk rock and 90s Elizabeth Hurley-in-a-Versace dress all at once. The four mini Matte Velvet Lip Pencils in shades of berries, camel and rose are just a bonus! This tried-and-true formula is beautifully matte, but not drying, and the colors are perfect for the holidays and dark, winter nights.
It wouldn’t be a holiday without a Sunday Forever Kimono. Yes, we’re biased (we live in them) but there’s a reason why these little babies have a cult following. You can read about our Fall 18 design process in our piece, Sunday Forever Fall 2018 Collection: From the Sheets to the Streets. And, if these little magical garments weren’t all that already, you can now get them...CUSTOMIZED. This isn’t your mother’s housecoat, obviously.
We’ll say it loudly for the cheap seats in the back: WE LOVE THE 90s. The good (The Simpsons, grunge, Seinfeld, Calvin Klein ads), the bad (Crystal Pepsi, Jerry Springer, Millie Vanilli) and the ugly (Desert Storm, dark lip liner with pale lipstick, Skidz). It’s wonderful to see the 90s back in fashion but the truth is, we always knew this would happen. It was only a matter of time until people realized the decade was one of change, revolution, heartbreak, innovation and reflection. On Christmas morning, we’ll rev up our 90s Playlist and read this book from cover to cover while a Real World Marathon plays in the background.
This cotton, machine-washable bag, originally made for fisherman are called simply, “filet,” in France. Eventually, the bags gained a wider appeal as a light and flexible tote that can be used for everything from groceries to laundry. We use one to haul bunches of celery from Trader Joe’s to our apartments so we can make our daily portions of celery juice. We’ve mentioned it a time or two, but just in case you weren’t paying attention, read about it here.
We love flowers. Nothing lifts the grey, winter days like little colorful arrangements carefully placed throughout the office. It may be snowing outside, but it’s Spring in here. We even wrote about our floral ways! When we spotted this Jeremy Sinkus bud vase at ABC Home, we had to bring it to our home. Resembling naturally occurring tourmaline, this vase mesmerized us at first site.
What?! Never dehydrate again? Ever? Yes, that is correct. Six hours of moisture wherever you roam (a lot of places but never above 27th street…). Why hydrate? Click here now.
Because…. A scarf adds a certain amount of chic to any outfit with very little effort. Even if you (*cough* we *cough*) haven’t showered in a beat or two.
We want diamonds but not Upper East Side diamonds. We want moody carbon studs; raw and gritty. We want diamonds with a back story, a past, a reputation. These dark grey, rose-cut diamonds are clawed by 14K yellow 100% recycled gold and handmade in Brooklyn by designer Vanessa Liane, who forges all her designs using the strictest of standards. All of Vanessa’s pieces are made with natural stones that are ethically sourced. Diamonds are reclaimed and sourced through vendors that adhere to theKimberly process (familiarize yourself - it’s really important).
PSA: The first step in solving a problem is admitting you have one. Step 2: Get a kickstart on your 2019 Resolution of LESS SCREEN TIME by announcing your intention to the world with this ultra-soft tee. Step 3: The new iPhone iOS includes tools to help you analyze and reduce your screen time. Just go to Settings > Screen Time and prepare to be blown away by how much time you spend staring mindlessly into your phone. Step 4: Set some screen time limits and use all of your newfound free time to do things like reading actual books, meditating, making pasta, completing jigsaw puzzles…. The world is now your oyster.
Turns out the gift of tranquility isn’t as expensive as we thought. We’ve recently gotten into weighted blankets and they’re like the adult version of swaddling; womb-like, safe and comforting. We float into a slumber and stay there until morning. We haven’t slept like this since childhood. Be warned, this blanket may induce I-don’t-want-to-get-out-of-bed-anxiety. You will not want to leave your cozy cocoon.
Because the whole “phone, keys and wallet,” routine is getting kind of old, we’ve decided to ask for a bag that only holds a phone, a key and a credit card. Life will be much easier when we can just grab this purse and go, rather than run down a mental checklist of things we may or may not have left behind. Yeah - we know we’re pretty good at solving problems.
Yes, we’re obsessed with skin. We talked about it here, and here, and then here, again. And if you’re wondering, NO! you can never have too many sheet masks. We have some favorites , in case you’re wondering. Pull them together and give the highly-sought after gift of good skin.
Trends come and go but two things we will always love: the beach and the smell of a tropical vacation. That’s why we love Sunday Forever’s Coconuts Perfume. It’s summer in a bottle with notes of pure toasted coconut, a touch of fig, yellow orchid, vanilla flower, sandalwood, soft musk and a hint of citrus zest for sparkle (which remind us of a margarita enjoyed while watching a sunset). The roller ball is real amethyst, a powerful and protective stone that relieves stress and balances your mood. Because trends come and go but one thing’s for sure: Aunt Barbara will always ask if you have a boyfriend, or when you plan to have kids, or what possessed you to cut bangs. And in those stressful moments, we’ve got you!
Who needs another ugly holiday sweater party when you can have a teddy bear sweater party? This one, in a bright orange-red, is our favorite. The bow and blousy sleeves add feminine details to the oversized silhouette. We cannot get this sweater out of our brains - Santa better be reading here.
